ADULT PROGRAMS

UPDATE ON LIBRARY DIGITAL SERVICES

Summer is a great time to get started with OverDrive (Libby App for Android and Apple users), Hoopla, and Flipster!  OverDrive offers ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines.  HOOPLA offers music, movies, TV shows (many kids selections and PBS series – go to TV shows, categories and select from there), ebooks, audiobooks and comics. With HOOPLA, there are no waiting lists as all material on HOOPLA is always available. We have noticed that some patrons are on holding lists for material that is readily available on HOOPLA, so don’t forget to check HOOPLA! We offer some popular magazines on Flipster. An easy way to access them, is to use our MLC App – Downloads (username: mlcook; password: library). You can read them online or use the Flipster app to download them. Magazines are returning to OverDrive and they are available without a wait. They will not count towards your checkout total of 10. If you need any assistance with digital services, please call, drop in, or set up an appointment to get started.

DIGITAL SERVICE FOR KIDS
Both OverDrive and HOOPLA offer great material for kids. Children under 12 who do not have a physical card can still use their Mary L. Cook barcodes to check out digital material. That barcode number can be found on a check out receipt under the date or ask at the desk for the barcode number. We particularly recommend read along books on HOOPLA. In order to find them on HOOPLA, you can simply type in “read along” on the Everything search bar. The Percy Jackson series and many others are available on HOOPLA. On Flipster, we offer National Geographic Kids magazine.
