1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

In August 2014, The Mary L. Cook Public Library launched a new literacy program, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.  As of today we have 25 children who have completed this program.  Congratulations to these children and their families.

If you read your child one book a day, she/he will reach 1000 books in under three years.  Though the goal of this program is to improve literacy skills, but even more, it’s about time spent together reading.

Ask how to sign your child up for this fun program.  For each 100 books read to your child they will receive a free book from us.

WAYNESVILLE ELEMENTARY MEDIA CENTER BOOKS

Parents,

If you find any Waynesville Elementary library books over the summer months, please return them to the Mary L. Cook Public Library.  We will see that they are returned to the Media Center before school resumes.

Thank you.
