Waynesville Elementary Media Center Books

Parents, if you find any Waynesville Elementary library books over the summer months, please return them to The Mary L. Cook Public Library.  We will see that they are returned to the Media Center before school resumes. Thank you.

WHAT'S BLOOMING?

You’ve probably noticed the royal purple spikes of perennial salvia in bloom in front of the library’s gazebo.  Also available in white, shades of pink, and other lighter purples, perennial salvia is a tough, drought resistant member of the mint family.  The leaves are highly aromatic when crushed between your fingers.  Some find the scent pleasing while others find it detestable.  No matter the aroma, the pollinators love this durable sun lover!  Plant it to attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to your landscape.  Once the first round of flowering has faded, the old flowers can be cut back down into the greenery in order to promote another flush of flowers.

The Mary L. Cook Library and Warren County Master Gardeners invite you to take frequent walks around these demonstration gardens.  The scenery is always changing, and we’re available to answer any questions you might have.
