THERE'S STILL TIME TO SIGN UP FOR SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Sign up for the Summer Reading Program!  Each day that you check out 5 or more reading materials, adults will receive a chance to win one of our terrific gift baskets.  It only takes seconds to sign up.  The more times you check out, the better your chances to win!

WHAT'S BLOOMING?

Take a look at the oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) blooming on the north end of the front face of the library.  It’s a versatile, deciduous flowering shrub that can take full sun to part shade.  They can grow 4-6 feet tall, spreading into a large mass from root suckers.  If you’re looking for an easy-care shrub that will form a colony with little help from you, this might be the one.

The Mary L. Cook Library and Warren County Master Gardeners invite you to take frequent walks around these demonstration gardens.  The scenery is always changing, and we’re available to answer any questions you might have.

SWING THROUGH SUMMER

Enjoy our library - inside and out!  After strolling through our eye-catching gardens, sit a spell on one of our new swings.  Four swings are strategically placed so you may enjoy every garden angle.  In addition, the Master Gardeners have prepared a garden scavenger hunt guide for the kiddos, which may be picked up inside the children's room.  When the paper is completed, it may be redeemed for a prize.

If you read your child one book a day, she/he will reach 1,000 books in under three years.  Though the goal of this program is to improve literacy skills, but even more, it’s about time spent together reading.  Sign your child up today!
