We will resume on November 27. Thank you! NEW!! Preschool Discovery Centers Bring your little one to explore their creativity! We will offer a different activity with supplies for you and your little one to enjoy. No registration - this will be a selfdirected activity. For ages Pre-K through K on Friday, November 3. We will have Play-doh stations in the Children’s Activity Room from 11:00 am-12:00 pm and 3:004:00 pm. Art Class for Kids Grades K - 5, join us on Monday, November 13 from 4:15 - 5 pm to make leaf creatures! Required registration begins Wednesday, November 1. We will be using leaves, sticks and other natural materials to create some fun leaf creatures. All materials will be supplied. This class is a collaboration with the Waynesville Arts Council. Drop-In Family LEGO Join us for Family Lego Building Day on Saturday, November 18 from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. Drop by the children’s activity room to choose a Lego Build Challenge Card and create with the library’s Lego bricks or free-build just for fun. No registration required. NEW!! Master Builders Use your imagination to build with LEGO, magnetic tiles, wooden blocks, Keva planks and more…. For ages K-5 on Monday, November 27 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. No registration required. Kids Ugly Christmas T-Shirt

Grades K - 5, sign up Monday, November 27 for a program on Monday, December 11 from 4:15 - 5 pm to make your own ugly Christmas t-shirt! Please give us your t-shirt size when you register. Supplies are provided. Toddler Time Storytime for children 24 months - 36 months and their caregivers on Tuesdays 10:30 - 11:00 am. We will read a story of two and do fun activities each program. These sessions involve caregivers as active participants. Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all sessions. No registration required. Baby Bookworms Storytime for children from birth to 24 months and their parent or caregiver on Wednesdays 10:30 -11:00 am. Enjoy great books for babies, learn fun songs and rhymes, and meet other families in your neighborhood. These sessions involve caregivers as active participants. Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all sessions. No registration required. Preschool Storytimes For 3 - 5 year olds including kindergarten on Thursdays 10:30 - 11:00 am. We play games, sing songs, listen to stories and share laughs. Caregivers are not required to stay in the room during storytime. No registration required. *While the recommended ages are listed in the above children’s program descriptions, please know they are a guide and that your child(ren) may continue in the program they started in the fall even if they have a birthday during the course of the program season (September-April). When you have 10 stamps on your Storytime Superstar card you will earn a free book! We will keep your Storytime Superstar card here at the library. Look Who’s Reading Book Club (K) Meets on Thursday, November 16 from 4:00 - 4:30 pm. The group will engage in a variety of fun learning activities featuring phonics, the writing of letters and words, and many other skills that promote a strong literacy foundation. Questions, contact Kathleen Welch at welchka@marylcook.com. Mail your letters to Santa….. The Elves and Santa are waiting to hear from you, and the Mary L. Cook Public Library wants to help. We have a special mailbox for you to drop your Santa letters in. If you mail your letter before December 4, Santa’s elves will try to answer before December 25. You may begin mailing your letters on Friday, November 17. Santa Open House Santa Claus will be visiting the library during the Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 2 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Bring the entire family to see Santa, who will be available for photographs. In addition to the visit from Santa, visitors can write letters to Santa, create a holiday craft, and partake in refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library. Required registration begins Monday, November 13. You may call the library at 897-4826 or stop in and register at the front desk. The library staff and Santa hope to see you there. Friends Holiday Auction Coming… The Friends Annual Holiday Auction is coming. Come in and bid on your favorite holiday decorations which have been donated by area businesses and community groups. If you have an item you are interested in donating, please contact Kathleen Welch at welchka@marylcook.com. Bidding will begin Friday, November 17 at noon. Bids will be opened Thursday, December 7 at 7:00 pm. Do your holiday shopping at the library! Waynesville Food Pantry Help support our local food pantry. Gather your donations and drop them off at MLC. Items needed: peanut butter, canned soup, individual fruit cups, tuna, canned chicken, granola bars. Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Parents: Stop at the front desk to request your 1000 books log sheet. For every 100 books your child reads they earn a free book and a sticker! When your child reaches 1000 books they will receive a free book and a certificate of achievement. Imagination Library Help us give every child in Warren County the gift of a free book every month! Talk to

your friends & family and share our posts far and wide. Register at ohioimaginationlibrary.org. If you need assistance in registering your child, please contact us and we will help. The goal of the Warren County Imagination Library is "Every Child Reads Every Day", and to help achieve that goal, the five Warren County libraries are funding a three-year pilot program to provide a free book each month to Warren County children from birth to age five. The Warren County Imagination Library is a community effort of founding partners: Franklin-Springboro Public Library, Lebanon Public Library, Mary L. Cook Public Library, Mason Public Library, Salem Township Public Library, United Way of Warren County, and Warren County Foundation, with support from The Ohio Governor's Imagination Library and Dolly Parton Imagination Library. ADULT The Mind-Life Project will be held Saturday, November 4 at 10 am. If you are interested in better understanding how the mind creates both peace and pain, come join us for a lively and fun discussion. Adult Watercolor Class Watercolor classes with Pam Campbell continue on Mondays (9 am - 12 noon) through November 13. Card Making for Adults Required registration began October 23 for ages 16 and up to make 2 seasonal cards (fall/holiday) at our adult craft night on Friday, November 10 at 6:30 pm. All supplies provided, but you are welcome to bring your own elements to add to your cards. Rootfinders Show and Tell We all have them - a teapot, a handkerchief, a photo - personal items with family ties

that leads us to our ancestors' lives. Bring in something of memorable significance to "show and tell" about on Saturday, November 11 at 10 am. Share your story about the object and its importance to you! Gingerbread Decorating 101 All ages are welcome to join us on Saturday, November 18 from 11 am - 1:30 pm at the Mary L. Cook Library to create a sweet gingerbread holiday treat. Registration begins Monday, November 6. Basic supplies are provided (graham crackers, icing, candies), but feel free to bring additional edible decorations to use and/or share. This event is sponsored by the Waynesville Area Arts Council in partnership with the Mary L. Cook. Public Library. Fall Ukulele Class Classes are held Wednesdays through November 29 (no class 11/22 - Thanksgiving). All ages are welcome, but children under 12 must have an adult with them. Class Format: 5 - 5:30 pm: class for beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills; 5:45 - 6:30 pm: an open session to play and sing whatever songs we want. Adult Fabric Scrap Tree Ornament Take and Make Ages 16 and up, get into the festive spirit by taking home the December Take and Make Kit. This month you can pick up a Fabric Scrap Tree Ornament kit for yourself and one other person starting December 1.

Puzzle Swap/Puzzle Table We have a puzzle swap area near the Large Print book section. We have several puzzles available for you to look through to borrow. If you want to rotate your puzzle collection, bring one in and take one out. No checking out! We also have a puzzle currently available for you to sit down and work on while visiting here at the library. TEENS After School Tuesdays After school Tuesdays for teens in 6th-12th grade : food, fun and friends from 3 - 4 pm in the Community Room. There will be no Teen Tuesday on November 21. Decorate an Ugly T-Shirt! (grades 6 - 12) Tuesday, December 12, 3 - 4 pm: T- shirts and decorative supplies provided. See if yours is the ugliest shirt around! White Elephant Exchange (grades 6 - 12) Tuesday, December 19, 3 - 4 pm: You do not need to bring a gift! Have a very, merry time grabbing from our pile or "stealing" from your neighbor to see what you end up with.
